Photo Caption:

Barely visible trough the trees is the lighthouse facsimile of the Tower Gas Station in Oneonta, NY. We believe the gas station was located 18 Main Street in Oneonta. Look closely and notice the old cars. This Tower Gas Station sold Tydol Gasoline. The Tydol name was derived from the Tidewater Oil Co. that was founded in New York City in 1887. The company was primarily known for its Flying A trademark. In the 1930s Standard Oil Co. gained controlling interest of the company. (Courtesy Susanne Greenhagen, co-historian Eaton, NY.)
