Photo Caption:

This great image of the Pooles Island Lighthouse Station, taken by Agnes (Carnes) Cohee around 1910, shows the circular coal shed that was later converted to an oil shed. The bell tower and the oil shed no longer stand. Agnes Carnes married keeper Cohee’s son, William. After lighthouse keeper Stephen Cohee left the lighthouse service, he and his son built side by side houses from Sears Roebuck & Co on the Bush River. Sally (Cohee) Zebley, the grand-daughter of William and Agnes, still lives in the same house today. (Photograph courtesy Sally (Cohee) Zebley.)
