This is the emblem that the United States Lighthouse Service designed for use in celebrating its 150th Anniversary. However, because the U.S. Lighthouse Service was dissolved in 1939, and its duties taken over by the U.S. Coast Guard, it saw very little use. We have revived the emblem and changed the date of 1939 to read 2014. This emblem could now easily be used by all lighthouse groups to celebrate the 225th Anniversary of our nation’s lighthouses.
