Although the paper bags that were used to hold the groceries got wet on the trip to the lighthouse, the provisions brought to Halfway Rock Lighthouse made it safe and sound. Notice the box of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, which were a staple to the lighthouse keepers. Standing in the boat is assistant keeper Hoyt Cheney who is handing the groceries to head keeper Arthur Strout.
