The flag is flying proudly from high atop the flag pole at Halfway Rock Lighthouse when the light station was in its prime. Look closely and you will notice that there is a cover over the Fresnel lens in the lantern to protect it from the harmful rays of the sun. Perhaps the day will come again when the flag of the United States of America will again fly proudly from Halfway Rock Lighthouse. Back to the edition of: Jul/Aug 2014
