Cape Hatteras Lighthouse Keeper Unaka Jennette’s car carried lots of things, including five youngsters. Left to right, Ramona, Myrtle, Cousin Earl Midgett and Dorcas. At the wheel is Rany Jennette. Always willing to help a neighbor, Keeper Jennette made his car available to all. One time a friend had made a large catch and in order to get the fish to market quickly, keeper Jennette offered the use of his new car. His wife was not pleased. Rany commented, “the car smelled forever.” Photo courtesy of Dorcas (Jennette) Anderson.
