Rear Admiral Vivien Crea (r), Commander of the First Coast Guard District in Boston surprised everyone at the opening dinner of the International Lighthouse Conference by presenting the American Lighthouse Foundation with a special Coast Guard Commendation from the Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard for the American Lighthouse Foundation’s volunteer efforts in saving lighthouses and their history. Accepting the award on the behalf of the American Lighthouse Foundation was Tim Harrison, president of the non-profit all volunteer group.
