Did the mystery die with him? James Forrestal, Secretary of the Navy at the time of the Port of Chicago Explosion. He later became our nation’s first Secretary of Defense under President Truman. Forrestal died under mysterious circumstances in 1949. To this day the circumstance surrounding Forrestal’s death have led to a variety of conspiracy theories raging from enemy agents to the cover up of UFO’s and Men in Black. Did Forrestal take to his grave possible secret information on a nuclear bomb that caused the Port of Chicago explosion in California that killed over 300 sailors and heavily damaged the Roe Island Lighthouse?
