This is the 40-foot Coast Guard vessel that was used on most occasions to transport the Brooks to and from the island. On some occasions, when the sea was rough they went on a 36-foot lifeboat because they were told it was unsinkable. On one occasion they hit a lobster pot or something that put a hole in the boat and knocked out one of the engines. The bilge pumps saved the day and they arrived safely.
