The old gashouse after Hurricane Juan ripped portion of the southwestern exposure of the building apart. The building once produced acetylene gas used in the station’s post-cannon fog signal system. Since this photo was taken, the building has deteriorated badly and is now in imminent danger of being lost. Back to the edition of: Jan/Feb 2006
