Lighthouse keeper Willie Corbett and his wife Velma with others at Maine's remote Saddleback Lighthouse approximately in 1909. It is believed that lighthouse keeper James Calderwood and his family members are also in this photo. Prior to the keeper's house being built, the keepers lived in the tower. This was one of Maine's most isolated stations where landing was the most difficult. Notice all the lobster traps. As a source of additional income many keepers were also lobstermen, which also supplemented their food supply. The keepers house no longer stands.
