June 20, 1998: A number of historic light stations in Maine are transferred to new owners under the Maine Lights Program, legislated by Congress. The transfers include Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse (to the City of Rockland), Cape Neddick Lighthouse (to the Town of York), and Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse in South Portland (to the Spring Point Ledge Light Trust).
