Before being stationed at Assateague Lighthouse William Collins was stationed here at Killock Shoal Lighthouse. Can you imagine his wife Jessie getting the three small children on and off this lighthouse surrounded by water? The Killock Shoal Lighthouse was destroyed after it was discontinued in 1939.
