Young Alaskan brown bears like this one, often raided the garbage rack at the end of the garage at Cape Sarichef, Alaska. James Baker, who was stationed there in the mid 1950's and took this photo said the largest bear print he saw was 14 inches long. He recalled that they always tried to take a dog with them when they ventured outside at night.
