This early image of the first Wings Neck Lighthouse shows that a fence had been installed at the station. This was most likely done to keep farm animals close at hand. In the early years, most remote lighthouse stations had a cow for fresh milk, chickens for meat and eggs and some even had pigs. Back to the edition of: April 2008
