Massachusetts’s Cape Poge Lighthouse recently celebrated its 200 anniversary with a birthday party that was attended by several hundred people.

For many of those who attended the birthday party it was their first visit to the lighthouse. Five pick up trucks were used to shuttle people back and forth to the lighthouse. In fact so many people turned up that there simply was not enough time to allow everyone to get to the lighthouse and climb to the top.

This story appeared in the July 2001 edition of Lighthouse Digest Magazine. The print edition contains more stories than our internet edition, and each story generally contains more photographs - often many more - in the print edition.
