This navigational buoy was torn from its mooring in Wells Harbor, Maine and landed on the beach. It became quite the attraction for beachgoers for a couple of months. The U.S. Coast Guard finally sent the 175-foot buoy tender Marcus Hannah to drag it off the beach. The buoy and chains were inspected and the buoy was reset back in its old spot in Wells Harbor.
