Susan Brown of Germantown, MD has been teaching second grade for 14 years. For the last six years she has completed a lighthouse unit with her students. As a final project, each student researches a lighthouse, completes a report, draws a picture of their chosen lighthouse, and makes a map showing the location of their lighthouse.

Susan has saved and laminated the Lighthouse Depot Catalogs that she has received over the years. Her students use them when choosing which lighthouse to research and again when they are drawing their pictures. When the projects are complete she hangs them up for the entire school to enjoy and the Lighthouse Depot covers are part of that of that display.

Students from Susan Brown’s second grade class proudly show off their lighthouse project.
