Pete Jones of Niantic, CT was kind enough to send us the lighthouse patches of the Aids to Navigation School on Governors Island, NY and Coast Guard Group Duluth. Pete attended the ATON school in 1970 and the Duluth patch is also from that same time period. Pete recently sent with us a number of photographs and written memories of his days as a lightship sailor on the Portland Lightship.

Bob Carter, Chief of the Queen Anne’s County Fire Department, Station 9 in Stevensville, MD sent in the patch for the United Communities Volunteer Fire Department on Kent Island. The patch features the Bloody Point Lighthouse, an area that the fire department serves. Interestingly, Bob also served in the United States Coast Guard from 1958-1962 and served at many Chesapeake Bay Lighthouses including Bloody Point.
