Shown here is the just completed new roof on the keeper’s house at Maine’s Little River Light Station. The lighthouse is being restored by the Friends of Little River Lighthouse, a chapter of the American Lighthouse Foundation, which still needs to raise $300,000 to complete the restoration project.

This story appeared in the December 2002 edition of Lighthouse Digest Magazine. The print edition contains more stories than our internet edition, and each story generally contains more photographs - often many more - in the print edition.
