Will Maine soon be getting a lighthouse license plate? If these two ladies get their way it may finally happen. Barbara Rodden (l) a teacher at Noble Jr. High School in Berwick, Maine and night manager at the Lighthouse Depot retail store started a school project to convince Maine legislators the time has come. Virginia Souza (r) store manager at Lighthouse Depot, from student ideas, designed what the students would like to see the new license plate look like. The proposed plate features West Quoddy Head Light in Lubec Maine, the eastern most lighthouse in the United States. Barbara said Maine is known around the world as "The Lighthouse State" and it's high time we recognized these historic beacons.
