Thieves hit Ponce Inlet Light

Comments?

A rare telescope of the United States Lighthouse Service was stolen from an exhibition case in one of the three historic buildings located on the grounds of Florida’s Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse Station.

Although other display cases were tampered with, the only artifact stolen was the brass telescope, which is one of only a few still remaining in existence.

Because of the rarity of the item, it may be difficult to sell and we hope the culprits will return it to the museum. Anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts is requested to contact the Ponce Inlet Police Dept at 386-322-6700.
