Connie Small, known as “the First Lady of Light” recently paid a visit to the Museum of Lighthouse History in Wells, Maine to donate a number of old photographs from her collection.

Connie at 104 years old has given over 550 lectures on lighthouses and been interviewed by countless television and newspaper reporters.

She has also authored the best selling book, A Lighthouse Keeper’s Wife which is available from Lighthouse Depot.

Although it was the ‘off-season’ when Connie visited, there were still plenty people around who lined up to purchase her book and get her autograph. Connie is shown here with our editor, Tim Harrison.

To learn more about Connie you can purchase her book or visit our web site for past stories on her at www.LighthouseDigest.com.

This story appeared in the Jan/Feb 2005 edition of Lighthouse Digest Magazine. The print edition contains more stories than our internet edition, and each story generally contains more photographs - often many more - in the print edition.
