Michigan’s Point Betsie Lighthouse got a much-needed facelift last autumn. The local county government now owns the 1858 lighthouse, located at Frankfort, Michigan. It has probably appeared on more Great Lakes calendars than any other lighthouse.
Although a restoration sign was posted at the site, no one affiliated with the lighthouse bothered to notify the majority of the lighthouse community about the restoration progress. However, many of our readers submitted photographs, including these, taken by Edward Burns of Hermitage, Tennessee.
