Shown here is the new Duques Academic Success Center located on the campus of the Mitchell College in New London, CT. The new building was the project of EDM, a Unionville, Connecticut based architectural and engineering consulting firm.

The Duques Center is the flagship building in the center of the Mitchell College campus quadrangle. Borrowing form the nautical heritage of the New London area, which is also home to the Coast Guard Academy, the building boasts a four-story clock tower lighthouse.

According to EDM architect Tim Eagles, they incorporated the lighthouse motif within the façade as a metaphor for the building's purpose, saying, “The resources within the building support students in navigating through their academic lives and beyond. In this respect, the Duques Center will serve as a beacon, a destination for students and faculty alike.”
