Proceeds from the sale of Michigan’s “Save Our Lights” automobile license plates have again generated money for more of the state’s historic lighthouses.

The fund, which is administered by the State Historic Preservation Office, announced a total of $79,048 in grants that were awarded to four different lighthouse organizations. The recipients are required to match 50 percent of the grant award in matching funds.
