Jack and Pat Peyton from Sacramento, California have been volunteering for eight years, mostly at lighthouses. This past spring they volunteered at Yaquina Bay Lighthouse in Newport, Oregon and this fall at Cape Blanco Lighthouse, also in Oregon.

In the past they have also volunteered at Umpqua River and Yaquina Head lighthouses in Oregon and at North Head Lighthouse in Cape Disappointment, Washington. Shown here in lighthouse period attire, they are to be congratulated for helping to make a difference. Hopefully others will follow their dedication in helping to preserve lighthouse history.

This story appeared in the October 2009 edition of Lighthouse Digest Magazine. The print edition contains more stories than our internet edition, and each story generally contains more photographs - often many more - in the print edition.
