The government has declared the oldest lighthouse in Puget Sound as excess property under the National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act.

Since April 2008 part of the keeper's duplex of the 1879 Point No Point Lighthouse Station has been leased to the United States Lighthouse Society and the other half is rented out as a vacation rental.

The entire station has been declared excess property including the lighthouse and fog signal building, the keeper's duplex, former oil house and shop/office building and garage.

This story appeared in the December 2009 edition of Lighthouse Digest Magazine. The print edition contains more stories than our internet edition, and each story generally contains more photographs - often many more - in the print edition.
