No one could have possibly imagined when this advertisement came out in 1959 that the telephone booth, like the lighthouses it referred to, would outlive its usefulness.

With the popularity and ever-increasing use of cell phones the phone booth has literally disappeared in some parts of the country. While some still exist, there numbers have dramatically dwindled In fact, old restored telephone booths have become a highly sought after collectible.

Read the lines in the advertisement and then figure out meanings or sayings as to how they related to the lighthouses of yesteryear. You’ll have some fun doing it.
