Much needed repairs were made this past summer to Canada’s 1873 Rose Blanche Lighthouse in Newfoundland.
The saving of the lighthouse in a major rebuilding that took place from 1996 to 1999 is considered one of the miracle lighthouse restorations of North America.
However, because of its unusual building design of sand in between its exterior and interior walls, water would seep in the windows and flow out at different points. The new custom-made windows will alleviate that problem. Other work done at this time were repairs to the entrance to the site. (Photograph courtesy Rose Blanche Lighthouse.)
