Thanks to the efforts of dedicated volunteers and donors, Michigan’s Crisp Point Lighthouse again has a beacon in the tower. The nearly three-foot tall ML-300 lens was installed this past November. Starting this year, and every subsequent year, it will be lighted during the shipping season from May 1 to November 1.

Located on Lake Superior, 14 miles west of Whitefish Point near Paradise, Michigan, the 1904 lighthouse was once on the Lighthouse Digest Doomsday List of Endangered Lighthouses. Threatened by an eroding shoreline, it was literally saved from collapse at the last moment. Photographs courtesy Rock Brockway, Crisp Point Light Historical Society.
