Cape Henlopen Light replica to be built

Comments?

It now appears that a replica of the Cape Henlopen Lighthouse will be built in Lewes Delaware.

The town currently has a facsimile lighthouse that was supposed to be a replica of the famous lighthouse that fell into the sea on April 13, 1926. The current facsimile has deteriorated beyond repair and is set to be demolished.

The original plan called for a replica of the replica to be built. However, the new design more closely replicates the original lighthouse.

This story appeared in the June 1996 edition of Lighthouse Digest Magazine.
