This past summer has been a busy season for the restoration of the Greens Ledge Lighthouse in Long Island Sound, Connecticut.
The 1902 lighthouse, also known as Greens Reef Lighthouse, was sold at auction on September 5, 2015 for $150,000 and, shortly thereafter, the Greens Ledge Light Preservation Society was formed. Almost immediately, the group launched a fund-raising campaign that eventually raised a reported $1.5 million. They hope to have the lighthouse restored by the end of this year.
