Built in 1908 to replace an earlier structure built in 1865, both lighthouses stood for many years at the site. The original lighthouse was torn down in 1939. In 1946 the Coast Guard stated that the remaining lighthouse was a hazard to aircraft from the Air Station. The tower was removed from the house and the structure was sold and barged across the harbor where it still stands today.
The former lighthouse, located at 323 S. Albert St. in Port Angeles, WA, has 1185 square feet of immaculately maintained living space and is surrounded by a white fence. Asking price is $127,000. It is offered by Judy Beier of ReMax Fifth Avenue, 593 North Fifth Ave. Sequim, WA 98382. Judy can be called at 360-683-1500 or email to jbeier@olypen.com.
