Notes:
This tower commemorates Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry and his decisive victory in the Battle of Lake Erie in the War of 1812, and also "to inculcate the lessons of international peace by arbitration and disarmament."

Tower Height: 352

Characteristic and Range: White light, 3 sec. on, alternating with 3 sec. darkness.

Description of Tower: Pink granite column.

Directions:
The monument is reached via the Miller Boat Line Ferry from Catawba Point to Put-In-Bay on South Bass Island. Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial is open daily from mid-May to late October. Winter visits can be arranged by appointment. There is a viewing platform 317 feet above the lake; there is a fee to take the elevator to the platform.
