Notes:
There was a lightship on this spot beginning in 1901. There was an explosion and fire at the lighthouse in July 1950 that resulted in the deaths of Keeper Bill Moore and an inspector, Dowsley Kingston. The upper levels of the lighthouse were removed after the fire.

Characteristic and Range: Flashing red every 10 seconds, visible for 21 miles.

Description of Tower: White square structure with red stripes on pyramidal base.
