In 1992 the local community bought this lighthouse. A visitors' center and other attractions have been established. Tower Height: 115 Height of Focal Plane: 180 Characteristic and Range: Two white flashes every 20 seconds. Description of Tower: Conical granite tower.

The Headkeeper's House Interactive Centre is based in the former head keeper's house. Exhibits include "The Science of Lighthouses," an interactive understanding of light, sound, communications and construction. It is open daily from April to October. The tower is also now open to the public, with tours available from April 1 to October 31, and by arrangement at other times.
