Photo Caption:

This period photo of Esopus Meadows Lighthouse was probably taken during keeper Andrew A. Mclintock’s tenure sometime between 1927 and 1933. Emanuel Weber next received the appointment as keeper until he died suddenly in 1936 at the young age of 30-years-old. Manuel Resendes then took over for the next seven years. Note the fog bell hanging outside the second story window on the right. Manuel’s wife, Ellie, recounted what a difficult job it was to wind it whenever needed. (Courtesy Doris Mclintock Hubbard)
