It was not uncommon for lighthouse keepers to have large families. However, Frank Henry, the lighthouse keeper of the Presque Isle Beacon Range Lighthouse on Lake Erie in Pennsylvania, was the father to four sets of twins.
Frank Henry became the lighthouse keeper at the old Presque Isle Beacon Range Lighthouse on May 4, 1869 and served in that position for 15 years. However, on November 8, 1884 the government removed him from the job. We don’t know why he was removed as the keeper. He was replaced by Charles D. Coyle who served until 1889 when he resigned.
