Long time subscribers to Lighthouse Digest may recall the story “Lighthouses of Iceland” by Richard Johnson that appeared in our January/February 2014 edition. Recently, Richard Johnson and his wife returned to Iceland to visit many of the lighthouses that they were unable to visit then.
Richard wrote that the lighthouses of Iceland are located in extremely scenic locations, and in their travels from one lighthouse to another they saw numerous stunning glaciers and icebergs, and numerous waterfalls and amazing national parks, including one that was like a mini Yellowstone National Park! These many scenic locations filled their journey with lots any natural wonders that are hard to beat.
Since most of us will never be able to travel to Iceland, we are sharing some of Richard Johnson’s photos of the lighthouses of Iceland that have not been previously published.
